New Look Retailers sells clothing, lingerie, shoes, and accessories at more than 650 stores in the UK and France. New Look targets tweens (pre-teens), teen girls, and their mothers (if they are hip) with budget-priced clothing. Most of its products are private label (such as its 915 brand for girls as young as nine and its Inspire line of plus-sized apparel). The retailer combined its 27 French stores with about 90 Mim womenswear stores in France to form NewMim; New Look completed the buyout in 2003. The family of founder and director Tom Singh -- a man routinely described as "intensely private" -- owns about 28% of the company.
